Welcome to Decoding Stigma, a thinking group about sex, tech, and the academy.
Decoding Stigma a cross-institutional coalition of laborers, futurists, advocates, artists, designers, technologists, researchers, teachers, and students who want to compel conversations about sex and sex work at the tech school. Our goals are to prioritize sexual autonomy as a necessary ethics question for researchers and technologists, and to design a liberatory imaginary in which sexually stigmatized voices are amplified and celebrated.
The Decoding Stigma substack was created as a process blog that will document the journey of this mission. This is both in effort to make the building of Decoding Stigma transparent from the very beginning, while also serving as a beacon for those who are interested in collaborating on or supporting this idea.
This first post is the first brick in a long road toward a new world. This path will be carved out by the sex workers, futurists, advocates, artists, technologists, researchers, teachers, and students who en/coun/ter this build along the way.
